- Coptic Magical Papyri
- -The site for an ongoing research project into Egyptian magical practices in late antiquity and into the early Islamic period. Fascinating look at the syncretism which took place here between different magico-religious traditions: traditional Egyptian religion, Hellenistic practices, Judaism, Christianity (including Gnosticism), and, eventually, Islam. This is the environment that many early Christian theologians came from, the diversity of and dialogue between different religious traditions making it a very fertile place for philosophical and ritual development.
